We searched long and hard to find the best air stones for DWC use. Our favorite is Alita's, because they are nearly indestructable and clog proof. We find this 6" air stone works very well in a 5 gallon bucket. They bubble profusely, you won't find a better stone!

These air stones are 30mm x 150mm (6") and have rubber bumper ends.
